Every Uqail store has a free store address that works as soon as you publish. You never have to buy a domain. Connecting your own domain is for when you want shoppers to see your brand in the address bar instead.
What you need first#
- A domain you already own, bought from any registrar.
- Access to that domain's DNS records, which is usually in the same account you bought it from.
Connecting it#
Go to Settings, then Domain, and add your domain. We then show you the DNS record to create. Add that record at your registrar and save it.
Verification#
A newly added domain sits in pending until we can see the DNS record you added. Once we can, it moves to verified and your store starts answering on it. DNS changes are not instant: they usually take minutes, and can take up to a day depending on your registrar.
If a domain stays pending, the cause is almost always the DNS record. Check that you copied it exactly, that you added it to the same domain you entered in Uqail, and that you did not leave an older conflicting record in place.
Removing a domain#
You can remove a connected domain at any time. Shoppers stop reaching your store at that domain, and your free store address keeps working, so your store never becomes unreachable.
