Until you add a zone with a rate in it, every order on your store ships free. That is the starting state, not a bug. It also means a half-finished shipping setup never blocks a sale, it just undercharges you, so it is worth finishing.
Zones#
A zone is a set of countries that share the same delivery prices. Most Saudi stores need one: Saudi Arabia. If you ship across the Gulf at a different price, that is a second zone. Countries you have not put in any zone ship free at checkout.
Open Settings, then Shipping, and choose Add zone. Name it, pick its countries, and save.
Rates#
A zone with no rates in it still ships free. The rate is the thing that actually charges the shopper. Add one with a name shoppers will understand, like Standard delivery or Same day in Riyadh, and a price.
Each rate can carry a free-over amount. Set it to 200 and delivery is free once the order reaches 200 riyals, and charged below that. Leave it empty and the rate always charges.
Add more than one rate to a zone when you genuinely offer a choice, for example a cheap slow option and an expensive fast one. The shopper picks between them at checkout.
Deleting a zone or a rate#
Deleting a zone deletes its rates with it, and orders to those countries go back to shipping free. Deleting a single rate just removes that one option from checkout. Neither touches orders that already exist.
