Adding products

Products

What every product needs before it can sell, and why a description is worth writing even though the system does not force it.

Open Products in the studio and add a product. A product needs a name and a price before it can be saved; a description is not enforced, but a product without one is not ready to sell.

Why the description still matters#

Selling online in Saudi Arabia requires you to show an accurate description of what you are selling and the total price including taxes and fees. Nothing in the studio blocks you from publishing a product with no description, but a payment provider reviewing your store, and a shopper deciding whether to buy, both expect one.

Write the description for a shopper deciding whether to buy: what it is, what it is made of or what it does, the size or quantity, and anything they would be annoyed to discover after delivery.

Images#

Add at least one image per product. Shoppers skip products they cannot see, and a storefront of unillustrated products reads as unfinished.

The photos are yours to upload. We do not generate product photography, so a product you have not photographed shows the coloured panel your storefront was designed with until you replace it with a real shot.

Variants#

Use variants when the same product comes in variant types a shopper picks between, such as size or colour. Use separate products when the items are genuinely different things. If you are unsure, ask whether a shopper would expect to find them on the same page.

Collections#

Collections group products so shoppers can browse. A product can sit in more than one collection, and collections do not affect price, stock, or availability.

A product you add appears in your draft. Publish the store for shoppers to see it.
